Stoop

In 2006, I began photographing Park Slope. Today’s photo is an example of what inspired me to do that… If you look around the neighborhood, you’ll start noticing all sorts of things left lovingly out on stoops, just waiting for you to take them home. Books, clothing, toys, knick knacks, etc.

There are also things that have been lost – a small child’s left shoe, a set of kets, a sweatshirt….all hung on posts, in case the rightful owner strolls by again and is able to re-discover it.

Today, I saw these colorful glasses sitting outside. I wasn’t tempted to rescue them, but I couldn’t NOT photograph them. Right?
